| Detailed Description |
Smallest of the firs, a thin 40 ft. spire that grows near alpine meadows. Dark purple cones at the top of these trees point up & as with all the firs the cone scales fall apart to release the seeds devoured by animals & birds. The foliage is munched by mountain sheep & deer. Fall sow or cold stratify 1 month.  Zone 2
