Annual with bright purple flowers that bloom midsummer to fall. Shorter and bushier than its cousin - the Purple Aster - more appropriate for use in a formal garden. To 1 1/2 ft. tall. Sow spring or fall in sandy soil, cover lightly. Water for more profuse flowering.  Zone 4
